Moon Dog

we didn’t fall asleep we fell into the tremolo · lullaby bound · powder sound · sometimes hooing · sometimes moaning in · a round · sequin memory · obsidian blankets of waves

and within them restless · was rest · flawless · was flaw · dark was light and nothing was sinking · nothing was fading · guilt was a glinting sliver · on its way out · and nothing was

you and me · moon dog · thudding through pines forever · down that weightless trail of snow · where you’re not a tramp you’re a whole · silver sheep dog · and i’m your whole · silver world · we finally found it · that shimmering frisbee · full body mirror of time
